Ladies celebrate breast cancer awareness

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, ASL hosted our annual ladies evening at the beautiful Roseberg farm near Stellenbosch. This was the second year that we collaborated with Alet Morkel and Chris van Rhyn to create an unforgettable evening for the ladies. We are very grateful for all the function arrangements that Alet and Chris undertook, which contributed greatly to the success of the event.

“Connection is why we’re here. We are hardwired to connect with others, it’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives, and without it there is suffering.”

Our dream for this year’s event was to create an evening for ladies to connect. On the warm and windless evening of 27 October the event played out exactly as we had envisioned. The guests were welcomed with a glass of bubbly and canapés were served throughout the evening. Antoinette Louw, the Master of Ceremonies, delivered a gentle yet powerful message. The laughter and chatter of the evening subsided as Jak de Priester’s voice filled the air for an hour of entertainment.

The program for the evening was, without announcement, interrupted by Lidien Ludik who “auctioned” five of our male clerks who acted as waiters for the evening. The auction was not just a lot of fun, but also resulted in a big contribution in support of Cansa.

Visit “our gallery” to view the photos of the event, which serve as proof of the connections that were made between women on an evening with delicious food, a glass of wine and enjoyable entertainment in a breathtaking environment.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed in some way to the great success of the evening.

A special word of gratitude goes to the following:

  1. Alet Morkel for her hospitality, the venue and function arrangements;
  2. Chris van Rhyn for undertaking all the function arrangements together with Alet;

Dames vier borskankerbewustheid

“Connection is why we’re here. We are hardwired to connect with others, it’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives, and without it there is suffering.”

  1. Alet Morkel vir haar gasvryheid, die byeenkomsplek en reëlings;
  2. Chris van Rhyn wat al die reëlings saam met Alet onderneem het;
  3. Jak de Priester en Antoinette Louw vir hul uitvoering teen ‘n spesiale tarief ter ondersteuning van kankerbewustheid;
  4. Caxton Magazines wat tydskrifte geborg het;
  5. Koopmanskloof Wines wat die wyn gesubsidieer het;
  6. Leka Ice wat die ys geborg het;
  7. Lidien Ludik wat die afslaer was;
  8. Media24 wat tydskrifte geborg het;
  9. Miglio wat geskenke geborg het;
  10. Nico en Tinkie Janse van Rensburg wat die Lords wyne geborg het;
  11. Sally Williams Fine Foods vir die nougat;
  12. Storm in a G-cup vir die borg van geskenkbewyse;
  13. Thai Sabai Spa vir die borg van ‘n geskenkbewys;
  14. Willow Creek vir die borg van ‘n geskenk;
